EDITING VS RETOUCHING
Editing refers to alterations done to the image as a whole. This includes things like color correction, brightness, and contrast. We use color calibrated monitors and specialized equipment in a controlled lighting environment to ensure the highest quality. Professional photo editing is included with your session so all the images you receive will already be fully edited.
Retouching, also known as Photoshopping, is when you alter individual elements of the image. Some examples would be removing blemishes, swapping heads, and removing things or people from the background.
We group our retouching services into three general categories: Complimentary, Basic, and Advanced. It’s important to note that the same types of edits could fall into any category depending on the specific photo. For example, removing a scrape or bruise could fall into either Basic or Advanced depending on its size and location.
Complimentary edits are things we do automatically before you receive your photos. This mainly would be altering or removing background elements of the photos. The most common example of this is removing people from the water, like in the above photo. So don’t worry too much about how many beach goers and surfers you might see at your photo shoot!
Basic edits generally include small or simple things like blemish removal, teeth whitening, and minimizing glare on glasses.
Advanced edits would be the more complex tasks like swapping heads, removing larger scrapes or bruises, and removing people from more intricate backgrounds like the example photo below.
Basic Edits are $8 per edit, per photo
Advanced Edits are $24 per edit, per photo
If you’re interested in any retouching services send us an email with the photo number(s) from your gallery along with a description of what you would like done. Once we take a look at the photos we will give you a quote based on difficulty and number of edits. Retouching fees must be paid up front and are non-refundable.
